• Zeolite ZSM-12 nanocrystals obtained using rigid diquaternary ammonium templates. Strong interaction between template and zeolite from solid-state NMR TGA. Significantly improved performance in n-C 16 hydroconversion methanol conversion. Fast desorption aromatics conversion shown by situ IR spectroscopy. is an important used as a catalyst several industrial hydrocarbon reactions. Facile synthesis of nanocrystalline wide Si/Al compositional range remains challenge. Here we report the successful nanosized flexible aluminosilicate initial gels (Si/Al = 20, 50 100) compounds ( p -xylene-bridged bis-methylpyrrolidinium, -methylpiperidinium −1,2-dimethylimidazolium -) organic structure-directing agents (OSDAs). The effective ability these OSDAs for due to strong OSDA growing framework. resulting zeolites with proper acidity exhibit substantially catalytic n -hexadecane (n-C ) methanol-to-hydrocarbons TGA analysis catalysts spectroscopy intra-zeolite species during MTH reaction revealed that smaller crystals result lighter less coke deposition higher rate attributed larger external surface area.
